Tasman Pergola Over a Central Deck

Carrum, Victoria

Tasman Motorised Freestanding Pergola · 5 × 4m · 2.24m high

Ryan’s deck sits in the middle of several parts of the house, with doors opening onto it from different sides. The 5 × 4m Tasman now covers the main open section between them.

The pergola is freestanding, with its posts sitting within the existing timber deck. This keeps the structure independent from the surrounding walls and rooflines, which are at different heights around the space.

There is still clear access to the doors on both sides, and the open edge of the deck remains easy to move through. The pergola covers the middle rather than the whole outdoor area.

The dark frame picks up the darker details around the house, while the motorised louvres give the deck the option of open sky or overhead cover. Lighting is built into the roof for evening use.
